Santorini Fira

Fira is the capital of Santorini.About 2000 residents live here and the population is growing a lot in the summer time.Carefree tourists are to find all around Fira in the summer wondering in the market and visiting in the shops.

In Fira you will hear about the famous Gold Street.

This street is one with the most Jewelry shops together.

There is also a small port in Fira called Yialos.There are two ways to get from the bay to the town A.by the cable railroad B.by donkeys.

It is 600 steps if you like you can try going up by foot,I wouldn't recommend it though.All big clubs ,bars , Lounge Cafes are located in Fira.

You won't have trouble finding them since they are all next to its other.

Some great museums are in the town too.The Archeological Museum , Prehistoric Museum of Thera.The cultural center Gyzi has a beautiful collection of pictures before and after the major earthquake of 1956.

Fira is the center of both Catholic and Orthodox Churches.Most of the large churches are open to the public during the day.
